BTW, sitting on an empty server trying to get a game going -

I've had my fair share. I did it enough to think of a term for it:

"Priming the server."

The term comes from the old hand pumped water wells. You use to have to keep a bucket with some water by the well. You'd have to put that water into the well to get any water out because a dry pump assembly wouldn't pull the water out of the ground. Same thing goes for old cars that ran dry on gas. You'd have to prime their gas pump also.

(Aside to Bigdog. Thinking back to the old pump on the farm reminds me of something. You once asked me what guys in pickup trucks had ever done to me. The answer is that I may be a liberal-city-boy now, but I spent the first half of my life on the farm helping to raise cows. That upbringing made me understand the three very important things: Wide brim hats are for keeping the sun off you face and neck; Boots are for keeping thorns and snakes off you ankles, and pickup trucks are for hauling shit. So when I see a cowboy hat thats not sun-faded, boots that aren't worn and trucks that have perfect paint, i think only one thing: Poser-ass-drugstore-cowboys don't know shit about a hard days work and they SURE don't know what a hat, boots, and a truck are for. THAT is what they've done to me, they've POSED in my presence using the tools of the trade I grew up doing.)

So, being that lone guy on the server is like being that bucket of water. You can run a server all day, but until there's someone in it, it is likely to not fill up. YOu've got to have at least one player to get things going. Usually you have to get a "critical mass" of players before you can sustain a player base. On the DOD server, thats about 6 players. Once you have six, you can bet you'll more people in the next few minutes. Below 6 and people trickle in slower.

Anyway, I just throw this out there so that if people see a post by me that says "Priming the server 2/25/06" or something like that, you'll know to look for me out there on the TTP DOD.

You're the man. I don't even know what else to say. Keep priming the server. TTP needs some good players like you to get other guys to come in. I know that if we continue to play with or without people, more will "trickle in."

Oh and BTW, if the map is on Anzio and I am the only one in there, you can definitely expect me to be crouching on the toilet in the bathroom near middle or crouching in church saying my daily prayers. That or go ahead and challenge a punch fight in middle.

Oh and I didn't mean to show the admin options thing.. when I press scroll + X to talk to someone on xfire it just shows up.. and I didn't notice it when I took the screen.

Turn of those levitation hacks, I'm sure the neighboors wouldn't enjoy you poppin up on their ceiling.

Actually, you can just get there by jumping on those umbrella things, then jump on the windows, and eventually the roof. Took me like 50 tries. Ask Rooster too.
