No thats just it, my usb mic will work with VoIP's such as Ventrilo or Teamspeak but for some reason it doesnt work with the ingame voice for Source. Im not the only person i know who has this problem, my usb ports are just fine.

yes, i think i had an issue like that once. Then i went to the control panel and madet the USB headset the default speakers and mic.

Also, if you start DOD or CSS and then plugin your USB mic, it won't work. You need to have it working and good to go before you start steam(ing pile of crap).

Ive already went through that whole process. I set my Audigy4 Card to the default output as it should be, and ive set my Mic(AK570) as the default input. Like i said it works with programs such as Ventrilo, TeamSpeak, and it even works with any of the Half-Life mods like 1.6 or DoD 1.3. The issue is with the Source engine, and until they figure out how to fix it my USB mic doesnt work ingame, along with others USB Mics. Now im not saying its all USB mics but it seems to be Logitech Mics as the majority of the problem being as they are Plug-in Play unlike others where u have to install drivers.

Duck. Buy Logitech Premium USB 350 headset. Cost about 50bucks or so. Good headset.
