Crosshairs
The most visible color is fuschia. For what it's worth.
I like the T crosshair best; it leaves the head unobstructed. (I aim for the head a lot, that's probably a CS thing, but when you're sniping, what the fuck else are you going to get used to 'sploding? That's one for all the machinegunners who believe that they have no profile. )

Crosshairs
I am still playing with cross hairs and colors, but I am liking the cross without the top of the cross and the little circle....green, purple, yellow and red are working good for me too on colors.

Nice. As a student myself, I applaud you.
I'm studying biology, and I'd venture to say that the best explanation would have to be either parasites or viruses, particularly the latter.
Radiation would damage the DNA in your cells, which would lead to death, as your body would not be able to express genes correctly.
A virus, on the other hand, could coopt your body's own cells, injecting your cells with its own genetic information, causing you to express the virus' proteins. Rabies is a good example of a virus coopting one's body -- causing animals (and humans) to become aggressive and bite, spreading the virus (which resides in the saliva).
