I play the old DoD more, source doesn't really appeal to me, but I will try and play more on the DoD:S server. 8)

That's all I need to say (the name) about what's being called the second worst cyclone/hurricane in history to hit Bangladesh, and possibly the second worst cyclone/hurricane ever.

There are a ton of news reports on this event, so I'll only link to a few. Already, the death toll due to Sidr is higher than Hurricane Katrina's, and it's still rising. Some reports put Sidr's death toll over 3,000 at the moment.

The deadliest hurricane ever also struck Bangladesh in 1970, killing around half a million people.

Sidr has also caused ecological devastation according to AFP, where it has flattened a forest that is home to the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger, among other animals.

I'm unable to find statistics on the damage or the number homeless, but I'm sure damage is in the high millions to billions and number homeless easily in the millions.
