1v1 Donner Match
Not sure where this came from, and I'm completely aware it isn't a spectacular showcase of skill, but it's pretty funny to listen to the commentary.
I wouldn't mind seeing this at TPG. Perhaps when we have clan scrims, PUG's and such, we could get a voice over for it for the community to watch the matches.
This may be a creative way to gain a bit more interest in DoD here at TPG, especially if we can get the videos to the home page.

Re: 1v1 Donner Match
The video I posted or the idea itself? (b/c the video I posted wasn't exactly exciting, it was moreso to show the premise)
I dunno, I thought this may be a creative idea to make the Dod server more attractive to current members, everyone likes a challenge right?
Also, I wasn't implying 1v1, but something more along the lines of 5v5 matches or something.Last edited by rock_lobster; 07-03-11 at 10:35 PM.

Re: 1v1 Donner Match
PUGS were hardly ever a 5v5 matches. yes when they died out they became that but when they were popular they were maxed out full slotted playing grounds so that to is not really a match more like playing a full server of regs. The only true matches we had were when clans competed against other clans in 5v5 matches, or when we leagued against other teams that is what a true match is just enough players to make the map playable which showed the skill level of the actual players playing.

Re: 1v1 Donner Match
Either way, we would have to get a match together (positive for the server), and while we're doing that, we just as well implement a new idea (also a positive for the server).
I'd want to watch a commentated 6v6 donner match/PUG/scrim or whatever it is. And naturally, watching competition makes people want to try it for themselves, ergo it could potentially bring in other current players of TPG that play other games.
It's just a thought that couldn't hurt.Last edited by Guyver; 07-03-11 at 11:24 PM.

Re: 1v1 Donner Match
What killed the PuGs (in my opinion) was simply lack of participation and the fact that while the last few were successful ....they were horribly skilled stacked on one side and thus, a rolling commenced.
