I wouldn't throw Memories, despite my enjoying it, in with the rest of that lot. I also think Miyazaki's works are kind of overrated. They're good but not the greatest things in anime movies.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is actually an American cartoon. Supposed to be one of the best that the US has ever put out.

I've only seen Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Definitely a messed up show but nothing really that special.

A "funny" series that also tries to be semi-serious with a plot related to fate, along with the inclusion of tasteless ecchi.

It's gotten low reviews from the anime community for a reason.
