Thread: Deus Ex 3 (Human Revolution) $17 on steam!

Deal of the century for this gem of a game. What are you still reading this for... Go buy it!!!

I'm still reading this because I already own the game

I'm waiting for it to go to 9.99 (as it was on Amazon before I missed it T_T)

Some tips: -Hack everything even the stuff you have passwords for to get the exp.
-Get the long range non-lethal gun that sarif offers the first time. You won't get that weapon for a very long time other wise.
-the police station has a PEP gun in the armory in Detroit. It can stun multiple people at once....you'll want it for the last mission of the game.
-Non lethal kills give the most exp (either shoot with a non-lethal gun in the head or do a take down)
-Get the reflex upgrade so you can take down 2 at once
-everytime you go to a city or comeback, the LIMB centers will have a new stock of praxis kits.
-There are several praxis kits hidden throughout each city (a full list is at the Deus ex wiki)
-for the first boss, I recommend picking up the rocket launcher and at least 4-6 rounds for it. Shoot once. Hide. Rinse. Repeat
-for the second boss, get the dermal upgrade that protects from EMP/electricty. Blow up the generators one by one.
-Get the laser rifle asap. Use it with the eye upgrade that lets you see through walls since the rifle shoots through walls.
-Get hacking early on (only need hacking 3 in Detroit the first time).
-There are multiple paths to get through stuff. Think creatively.
-a lot of times to get through electricity, there are 2 boxes. Use those to get through to the switch if you don't have the emp proof skin.

This was probably the most fun game of 2011 for me. I went all badass killer with a hot rod shotgun that just kicked peoples asses. The first mission at the police station, I started out all stealth-like, hiding dozens of bodies in the AC vents, but I got fed up and went guns blazing and killed everyone in sight... apparently killing people needed for later quests! Oh well.

Next time through, I plan on only upgrading my pistol and focusing on more stealth-like techniques. I play shooters to do exactly that... shoot. But this game can seriously make things interesting by giving you several ways to accomplish the same things.

If you want more of a challenge, go for the pacifist achievement. And Foxiest of the Hounds.
