05-15-12, 02:49 AM #21I am a bigger fan of the tabletop games than the Mechwarrior series. Only MW2 was great IMHO so I applaud their decision to attempt to sim the tabletop Battletech rather than making something silly. I would prefer 3025 tech, but I understand why they are setting it when they are. As for the unseens, I never could understand why FASA did not just make new art for those. The group of players I played with easily recognized the Macross designs because we were all fans of Robotech and we could not figure out how they were able to use them in the first place. In fact, when we played the Robotech RPG, we used our Battletech miniatures. And now we all see just how geeky my youth was.

Gumby you should come try out Megamek with us sometime then since you played tabletop. It is a lot of fun and uses a random die roller and everything, basically just an automated online tabletop game. Anyone else is invited as well, of course.

05-16-12, 11:22 AM #24I have played Megamek, it's really good. I may even be able to get some guys from my old tournament team (yes, there used to be big tournaments) to play some Megamek if you are interested.

05-20-12, 02:57 AM #26I got two other guys I used to play Battletech with interested in some Megamek. Biggest issue will be the time difference between me and everyone else since you guys are all in the USA. Perhaps next weekend?

Re: Mechwarrior Online Vids
Let me know. I play a lot of games with folks in European time zones so it is no big deal to me.
Mechwarrior Tactics (collectible, lance-vs-lance turn game) is going in friends and family beta on the 22nd and is supposed to be going into full beta soon.
Mechwarrior Online has some beta announcement this week, but nobody knows what that is. Hopefully it gives us a time-frame.
Anyone interested in these games please contact me either through pm/steam/etc.

Found this interesting on the World of Tanks forum...
Will Mechwarrior Online change your playing/spending habits on WOT? - World of Tanks official forum - Page 2
I think this game might end up being popular, good thing I'm in a merc unit already.
