CRYSIS!

Been waiting for the Steam Summer Sale to roll around so I could pick up Crysis and Crysis Warhead...

GAME IS RIDICULOUSLY DEMANDING!

I have:
core i-7 2600k, 16GB DDR3 RAM, NVidia 560ti X2(SLI), installed on an SSD and I can't even come close to maxing out the settings.

I could barely hold 45-50fps with VSynch = off, AA dropped from x16 to x4, res dropped from 2560x1600, and every single setting dropped from Very High to a mix of Medium and High...and it's still one of the best looking games I've ever played. I was able to run Crysis2 on max settings with HDR texture pack and hold 60+fps but Crysis1 is kicking my rig's butt!

Anybody else pick it up? your rig beastly enough to tackle this game on Very High?

This link has a list of picture comparisons of Crysis screenshots and real-life locations. In most of them, I couldn't even tell the difference!

for $11.99. I have all of the Crysis stuffs now.

They dropped support for Crysis really fast after release and decided to do Warhead instead. I'd say the reason is partly because they were a new company, their first engine and they decided to not optimize it.

Of course also Crysis 2 was designed to run on consoles too, which have lower requirements.

The original release for Crysis 2 was DX9 only. Download the DX11 patch and high res texture pack, and you will have one of the best graphical titles ever.

It can be pretty demanding to even the beefiest systems. It was also a very fun game. I had to beat the last bosses by cloaking and beating them to death with the butt of my rifle as I had no ammo. It was great.

Great game. I got all settings max and easily hit 130+ fps D: (2x 470gtx), i might reinstall just to play it again. I... cannot remember how i killed the final boss though...
