Re: Was Aliens a bait and Switch?
I emailed steam about a refund. There's alot of talk about the "one time" refund steam will give. If I get it great, if not all well sucks to be me.
Heavy have you spent alot of time in the multiplayer? As beta is may see, it's actually fun. It's not like BF3 where we all felt shafted but down right love the multiplayer, but I would say it's worth a small chunk of change. $25 or less.Dispatch the DooM

Re: Was Aliens a bait and Switch?
Honestly Gearbox was a good company to give it to, they just fucked up. They're all Scifi nerds(as evident in the BL's series) so I believe if they actually took the time to do it they would have done it really well. My 2nd choice would be Rocksteady. The Arkham games are really nice looking and really well done. I think they could have brought a good game. Aside from those two, the 2K guys that do Bioshock would do well too.

What makes you say that?
Alien 3 where they started filming with out a script? * I loved it*
Alien Resurrection were the director didn't even speak English?
AVP were they let Paul Anderson crash that plane before it even go on the run way with a foolish story/setting?
AVP R where they decided to let Graphic artists be directors?
AVP (2010) where it was made by the boys behind Sonic the Hedgehog, and thought there was no need try an bring back the best parts of the 2nd AVP?
or
ACM where Gearbox told us all they had this one but actually high goons to make this game?Dispatch the DooM

Re: Was Aliens a bait and Switch?
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't gearbox just buy the rights recently? If I'm not mistaken this game is pretty much 0 gearbox input. The next game will be key.
Alien was amazing
Aliens was solid
Alien 3 would've been great if they went the wooden planet route
Alien 4 was ok
Alien 5 was gorgeous and was for all intents and purposes a great direction for the alien series, let's see what follows the Prometheus....

Did Aliens: Colonial Marines' Screenshots Lie to You? - IGN
Aliens: Colonial Marines didn't quite live up to its enormous potential for a number of reasons, but one of the most common reactions IGN editors had centered on the visuals. Was this what we were always told Aliens would look like?.....
Did Aliens mislead potential players with misleading screenshots?....

What do you think? Do you see a difference between early screenshots and the real game? Did Gearbox "get the jump on the next generation"? Let us know in the comments below, and be sure to read our review of Aliens: Colonial Marines before making a potentially unwise purchasing decision. And if you're curious about who's responsible for what, and the future of Gearbox, read IGN's interview with Gearbox's Randy Pitchford.Last edited by SovietDooM; 02-15-13 at 04:04 AM.
