    City of Steam

In a sentence, City of Steam is a steampunk-esque, browser-based, MMORPG, that caters to RPG as well as MMO (or so their site claims -- what can I say, I'm skeptical). I've been outside the MMORPG realm for quite some time now (Final Fantasy XI will always be my love child), so I don't pay attention to new games of the genre much anymore, but City of Steam hit my radar about a year ago when it was mentioned at the Games Developer Convention of 2012.

However, after having actually spent time looking at CoS, I think I might give it a test run when it finally releases. The game play videos remind me of Torchlight if it were made into an MMORPG, and I loved Torchlight. I played Torchlight for nearly 3 days straight after I bought it; I just couldn't stop! Ok, well, I did stop, but not because I wanted to.

    Anyway...
Stephen from CoS approached TPG and asked for a chance to talk to us and see what we thought about CoS. Being a developer myself, I personally think that kind of contact is pretty cool -- getting to talk to someone with the inside scoop. Stephen said he would drop by if we had any questions or anything, so I'll point him at this thread in case anyone is interested. Also, here's the video from their website:

I'll take a look at it later(tomorrow) and see what's up with it. Always interested in new games, and since I don't have much to write articles about aside from the new metro game, then i might as well look into CoS. Plus, a steampunk mmorpg just sounds awesome.

I am a little curious as to how it came about that he was curious about our take on the game since we don't really have much of a MMO presence. Not that it matters I'm glad he did either way it jus seems like we'd be the last place he'd wonder about haha.

Also, would he mind setting some time aside for doing a podcast with us next month? We're always looking for stuff to talk about and it would be neat to have a Dev on to talk about their game.

Yea it will, I'm super excited about the new Metro. I loved the first game, even with its flaws. I'm actually getting more excited to play this to, I wanna drive a motorcycle!

    Re: City of Steam

So I finally got around to playing this. I'll only have a couple of days to get into the game as Metro comes out on the 14th(even though steam says the 13th). So far I'm actually enjoying it. There's obviously things that could have been done better or better explained, but it's beta so I can't fault it that much. I'll try and get a overview of it out whenever I get a chance.

Also, how the hell do I cave. I don't want to just close my browser in case I lose my progress...sigh haha
