Re: Star Citizen Caterpillar sold until noon Monday
Its amazing to me that I dont hear more about this game. I only recently had heard things about it and the more I look into it the more I get excited about it. I just read on their wiki that you can actually board another players ship once you have done enough damage / taken out the engines etc. and take their ship. But the thing is you actually have to go onto their ship and take it using guns / explosives and the defender actually has a chance to save it using the same or even buying certain upgrades such as turrets or a "dead mans switch" whatever that is. My question though is will this all be in first person for these situations and if so will there be more areas that will have firefights outside of your ship such as the many planets you can walk around on?

It's been pretty widely covered in gaming circles though. And there've been more than a few threads about Star Citizen here on the forums. There's a lof info out there.
I think it'll be (if it lives up to Roberts' vision and the hype) awesome and I will totally be playing hardware permitting.

Simple answer is yes and let me break it down.
Most planets are going to be 'safe zones' meaning no combat, however one of the newer stretch goals stated that there will be fps combat on select lawless planets which may or may not be running at launch.
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/funding-goals (20M goal)
FPS combat will mainly take place on space stations / asteroid stations and ships.
It has also been stated from the devs that FPS combat will be more like ARMA and not like Call of duty meaning slower paced and more tactical. So running balls to the wall through an airlock is more likely to get you shot in the head than have you come out on top.
By the way it is awesome to see more TPG interest in Star Citizen! A great source of information comes from Wingman's Hangar show that one of the devs hosts every Friday at 11:00 am Central time. Also the community is pretty awesome about answering questions on the website chat though it fills up fast during events.

I just want another Wing Commander. There were some unanswered questions from Wing Commander Prophecy. What REALLY happened to Blair? What happened to that alien race that was destroying both mankind and kilrathikind?
