WOOT WOOT! HD re-do on Steam

First off who played the badass original? That game was by far one of my favorite SNES games.

Secondly, as much as I love the fact that the game is getting a little remake loving, I'm already upset that it looks like they fucked it up. They turned it from a good platforming game into what looks more like a 2.5D shooter. I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I'll see after I ge this Demo working...stupid Uplay...why do I have to log into Uplay when I got the demo from steam?

Sigh...my initial thought was correct. This game is not Flashback. It's some twisted shooter version of what was once a great game.

And that's not even getting into the games issues like the controller scheme. And that's coming form a guy who played the old one, who's controls were just horrid to the average gamer haha

Is it really that hard to make a good by-the-book Remake of a game? Flashback didn't have a minimap, it didn't have objectives, it didn't have experience points, nor power ups, and most certainly it did not have regen health. The game didn't even have health. It had a battery powered shield that you had to recharge, and if that went out you died on the first hit. Sigh...

It looks pretty good to me...and it's made by the original games' creator.

Yes, I played the original.

The game on its own had issues with animations and combat. I got stuck in place about 3 times just playing the demo.

Outside of that, they've completely removed most of what made flashback fun. Most of the original was trial and error platforming with an interestingly mysterious story. Now it's just a run and gun shooter, that so far removes itself from the first. Which really sucks cause this game would have made a great remake if done properly.
