Re: Base Raiding
But what's attractive about a server with select few who are so well setup your only hope is a server wipe. We didn't want to start battling each other, and a few went rogue. We only wanted to fight in the fields, now we are base raiding. Some only hit well setup bases....

Re: Base Raiding
This is the problem with games like this and minecraft, its still a game which means people aren't always going to be around. Someone needs to get smart and start adding AI to games like this that you can buy in some fashion to defend your base while gone.

Then stop getting so bent out of shape also. You're talking about becoming someone people don't want to fuck with...yea it sounds like you've taken this all very personally from the get go. Just calm down Kraker, no matter the outcome of all of this the world will still go on. You're throwing a tantrum.

Motion sensor laser turrets power by salvaged solar panels.... But that would be a waste once I get my up link to the gps and ion cannon satellites.... Also I've been giving the wolves gassy foods and watching the chicken rape more random animals.

Re: Base Raiding
Well, i'll say it. I think we have done a pretty good job of keeping a lid on it. The largest group that formed the first 2 days has pretty much broken up, PvP'd with no special expectations and severely limited raiding. I have no plans to go raid for a few days, but i do have some plans to PvP, as i have been the last few days.

Putting it in hindsight, I now can see how new DayZ players felt first coming onto the TPG server only to be killed on the coast by myself or other experienced players. As much as I may have come off discouraged and defeated by this game Kraker, I'm trying really hard to persevere.
What you have yet to understand is that it's not about getting my gear stolen already. What I've been trying to say but you won't listen is the game is no more complicated than DayZ. I do 'understand' that it's gather, hoard, steal, get stolen, kill, be killed, rinse/repeat. I 'understand' there are lessons to be learned from every death and pillaged base. Without those lessons you can never truly learn.
What I've been trying to say through all my posts is that all these things take time. The kind of time I put into two years of DayZ. The constant ups and downs and rinse and repeat kind of game. It's put a wear and tear on me dude. It's hard for me to put an hour into CS:GO without getting bored. To sit down for the amount of time 'I believe' it takes to be successful in Rust...I don't know if I have that will power or patience anymore.
Yes, I was initially excited for this game. I went gun-ho, created a dramatic post, tried to rally excitement in others and for the most part I think it worked. Did you take those posts a little too seriously? Were you excited to finally have an adversary that you could easily handle for the time being until he gained 'Rust Experience'? I won't assume the answers to those questions.
Let's not start unneeded drama with this game already. If I instigated any of it I'm sorry. You know I am a competitive person just as much as you are. My main goal is for the server to succeed...that's all I care about. I hope you can finally understand my opinion on the game instead of the assumed "RageQuit". And of course the ragequit isn't true...I'm still playing on the server.

Re: Base Raiding
Your post seemed to say you were done with the game. I apologize for misunderstanding that.
I'm with you, I want our server to succeed as well. But there is no other server out there saying "Fresh Spawns are safe from having their base raided so you can enjoy the game" People who play Rust understand that is the way it is. Just like DayZ, no servers were nice to freshies. It is a survival game. Get in, lay low, until you are ready to attack. Don't come in building 30 foot towers in the middle of the busiest town on the map and expect no one to fuck with you.
Being able to base raid is not going to deter players, because all servers are like that. If you want to grow a population, you need numbers, and dedicated people to play. Not rules outside the norm.
