Thief (2014) - Comes out Feb 25 3am (Eastern) - Most Difficult Challenge

So, the new thief comes out tomorrow morning. I grew up playing the original (admittedly only the demo of the original, because it was so hard). I am very excited about the new one.

Who else is getting it? I am hitting the sack when I get home and am getting up at 3am to start.

So here is my challenge,
In the game you can turn on and off difficulty modifiers that adjust your score. I plan on turning most of the options off and trying to make it as much like the original thief as possible. (I expect this to be very difficult) As well as playing on the hardest difficulty (Master). There are leaderboards that track how well you did in each mission (or so I am told).

Anyone care to join me? / Compete with me?

It looks like a gorgeous game! A very very well made pc game.

From what I heard at the end of last year, it was blase, and nowhere near as good as previous games. It's why I didn't preorder it. I'll probably pick it up during the summer sales.

I'll definitely be getting it. I think the Thief series might be my 2nd favorite series of all time(It's kinda sitting on par with Elder Scrolls #1 is BG). I played the shit out of the first 3 - especially Thief II. I'm sure that I'm back to noob level but I planned on playing pretty much the same way that you do. I won't be able to get it until next week most likely, and I only get to play games late at night(10 pm eastern at the earliest), but if you are up that late I'd be game.

There's a multiplayer on this version?

no multiplayer.... just a single player score at the end of each mission. If you are friends on steam you can compare scores. As well as a global leaderboard.

I got through the first mission, made some mistakes, died once. Not too bad, but I can do better.

I turned off all the hints/shimmers in the options (left the loot glint on, aka the way thief was). I'm playing on straight master difficulty, I looked at the difficulty modifiers and they are ridiculous and I won't be attempting them my first playthrough.

The game got bad reviews. 69 on Metacritic when I looked yesterday. Not worth the release day price.

almost all the bad reviews are from the console versions. Where apparently load times are the major complaint

On the PC its pretty amazing.

Game play and poor storyline were bad. PCGamer didn't take to it well.

How is a 69 Metacritic score bad? Hard Reset got a 73 and it's awesome. Sure, it may not be worth it's release day price, but bad? No. It can't get a 69 and be that bad. 20 is bad:
