been thinkin bout picking up skyrim again but the storys is all the same i ponder if there are like any total conversion mods with an entirely new story

Falskar. Whole new map, whole new story, all new quests, etc.

Also, for a new experience with the combat system, try SkyRe (Skyrim Redone).

There are plenty of fun mods. However, a good starting place is STEP (Skyrim Total Enhancement Project).
They have a VERY detailed guide. It's great.

These mods will work with that. They also fix A LOT of the bugs Bethesda couldn't be bothered to fix. Option's mod doesn't change the story actually. There are expansions that are player made, but no conversions. A port of Morrowind to the Skyrim engine is being worked on, but it is in closed alpha. THere are a few other projects, but they are also a long ways off.

There are a lot of steps in STEP that will help regardless of installed mods. They will enable better vsync, being able to use more memory, bug fixes, etc. There is also a guide on "cleaning" the main skyrim files, which is necessary to avoid loads of crashes/conflicts.

Also, instead of Nexus Mod Manager or Steam (do NOT use the steam workshop), use Mod Organizer. It makes it so each mod is separate allowing for you to try out mods without having to manually undo changes or redownload core files.

There is a mod that redoes the Civil War mechanics. You could try that. Also, don't forget to use BOSS.

I suggest using Nexus Mod Manager to install Falskaar.

You can install both manually, of course, but Nexus Mod Manager does it for you automatically and properly, where as if you install manually and don't know what you're doing, you can screw up your game majorly.

Seriously though, Mod Organizer. It works with Nexus, and it is much much better in terms of features and UI.
