Doom 4 is idTech 5 engine. It will be available on the PC, and has been in development for such. While idTech 5 had some issues with multi-GPU support for both Rage and Wolfenstein releases (still doesn't work on Wolfenstein), the graphical potential for the engine are seriously impressive. Wolfenstein was AMAZING, and while Doom 4 may end up being a linar, corridor shooter, if it is ANYTHING like Wolfenstein, you can count me in.
I am glad I have access to the Doom 4 beta, because I am seriously excited about this game. I really, really hope that it can make up for Doom 3 as I was somewhat disappointed with many aspects of the game.

Eh...you aren't missing much. In terms of graphics, it's aged well, I guess. Story was never important anyway (that's the excuse I keep telling myself since they did try hard for number 3). The big thing will be the enemy AI, which has not aged well at all. I distinctly recall seeing enemy soldiers take "cover" behind railings that wouldn't protect a leaf all the while leaning against air instead of directly against the railing. Its horror factor is also derived from the "spawn something behind you" schtick.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.
