Anyone seen any worthwhile news on this? I enjoy the eve universe and was dissapointed that dust wasn't PC based, and the fact that this is going to be I figure there will be buncha TPGrs playing it when released..

The only news I've seen is essentially:
-Legion is the real Dust and will actually be integrated properly
-Dust is continuing only as it's still profitable
-Legion is for PC

Yep, pretty much what I've seen.. there's lots of speculation as to whether or not it'll be fee based like Eve is, or anyone of a # of different topics but no real information..heh

I hope it's not the same method as Dust. It wasn't bad at first, but then they started adding in equipment that was just plain better than the free equipment. It also became "necessary" for those serious about the game to also pay for boosters. When I played, at least you also had to pay just to use voice chat out of deployments. Voice chat for deployments was free, but anything social... It was also really hard to compete with people who had never stopped playing ESPECIALLY once they introduced a passive SP system in addition to the normal SP system. This encouraged more people to buy more "competitive" gear.

I think maybe 5 years ago, a subscription system would work out well. It probably wouldn't be Eve's style; no using isk to get PLEX to play without paying money. You just can't earn enough as a grunt to be able to plop down the isk for a PLEX.

I hope they go with something like PoE or DotA2, where what you pay for are cosmetic/non-game changing items like skins.
