Grid 2 is great, but the story is kinda lame. I guess not as lame as most other racing story lines, but the whole social networking popularity thing is kinda cheesy in my opinion. It has great graphics, great controls, and some unique game mechanics that let it stand out from other racers, so it gets 2 thumbs up from me.
As for Need For Speed Most Wanted, it is basically Burnout Paradise with exotic car licensing. I mean, it is literally the same game. Have you played Burnout Paradise? Then you've played Need for Speed Most Wanted. I don't remember who stated it, but one reviewer (possibly Lazy Game Reviews) said that what they created was "Need for Burnout most Paradise". This is no surprise, seeing how Criterion Games developed both games, and borrowed most of the tech and game design for Most Wanted.
Need for Speed Rivals is supposedly better, although I didn't buy it. It was developed by Ghost Games, and my understanding that it is superior to Most Wanted, although I am going off of what I read and not from my own experience.

I own all three, burnout paradise, NFS:MW, and the remake of NFS:MW. As much as it pains me to say I disagree...well, I disagree. The handling and the mechanics are different as well as the layout of the game world. While the remake is more similar to burnout, the original most wanted that came out before burnout paradise was way different, and the best of the three in my opinion.
Original need for speed most wanted is the most fun I've ever had in a racing game.

The original Need for Speed Most Wanted was fantastic. I agree.
Comparing the reboot to Burnout Paradise, you have valid points about the world being different, and I would hope so. It is a different city, but the same damage mechanics, repair methods, and if I recall correctly, the way you just drive around and find cars randomly sitting on the streets, as well as the takedown mechanics during and after races.
There were a ton of similarities that were simply ripped right out of Criterion's previous game, that you can't deny simply because they are literally identical, but they did add some things as well, so it isn't like it was a carbon copy... but it is pretty darn close.
Oh, and the fact that you have to drift around every single turn in the Most Wanted reboot made it a pretty poor driving experience, in my opinion. You would drift your Bugatti Veyron around corners at 200MPH.... um... yeah... er, uh... no.
Personally, I am more of a Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit kind of guy, with maybe some Porsche Unleashed, followed by the original Most Wanted.
