Re: Operation Flashpoint 2
If it takes 2 hours to cross in a jeep then it takes 20 minutes to fly in a jet...
Heli is a little faster that a jeep at best it would take ~1 hour to cross it as a heli.
Besides, Who the hell drops the carpet bomb in the sheer scale cinematic.

Re: Operation Flashpoint 2
I'd say a jeep can only go 70 at most.
The helicopters can go 200.
Jets should go around 600-700
In a jet you would cross the map in a few minutes.

They discuss plane possibilities in that thread.
Some possibilites:
1. We can call in Air strikes from AI controlled planes.
2. There will be slower planes such as the a10 instead of Harriers or F-16s
If you look at the scale of the map, then you'll notice that OFP 2 has a smaller map than ArmA. Sahrani is 400 sq. km. This OFP 2 Island is only 200 sq km.

Re: Operation Flashpoint 2
Precisely speaking,
A man's walking pace is about 5km/h. If the stated ratios between men and vehicles are true then:
Aircraft cover 3x the island's distance in an hour;
Jeeps cover 1/2x the island's distance in an hour;
Men cover 2/9x the island's distance in an hour.
Now, the island they have based the geometry off of is Kiska Island, in the Aleutians which is 22km long.
That would mean the jets would fly at about 67.5km/h. Taking their sweet time to be sure!
