That guy thinks Super Mario is GOTY, and he then disses BioShock. What a joker. BioShock, Portal, COD4, Crysis, and he chooses Super Mario. A game I liked that isn't mentioned alot is Call of Juarez. Great game.

He does mention Crysis as one of the more expensive games that's why there wasn't much gameplay.

More expensive in terms of money spent on production? or its selling price?

Price wise I think its worth every penny. I always have this idea I dont know if it's done or not. Games should be sold with 3 different prices. One low price where the game comes in a sleeve and the high graphic detail locked. One in a sleeve with everything unlocked. The last in the nice packaging and everything unlocked. Some ppl buy games just to play and they dont care about graphics, usually they have lower end pc's and dont want to spend lotsa money on games and hardware. This might be a stupid idea but there are tons of great games out there, and they sell for 40-50 not dropping a penny until maybe a sequel is rumored!!

    Look at the recent must-haves.

    Crysis
    BioShock
    COD4
    Orange Box
    Those are unarguable

Others I think everyone must have
    ETQW
    UT3
    COJ
    MASS-E
    Gears of War

Thats a lot of money. Maybe that would help with the migration of console gamers to PC, which will serve us better providing us gamers with tons of more games. It's very cool to see how PC games excel in graphics, and providing its gamer with better and better games to play. However it would be nice to see some sort of strategy to pull some console gamers into it's market.

Portal by itself should be game of the year. Period. Any one of the games in Orange box is by itself a GOTY candidate. So it should win hands down.

As far as Halo 3, OF COURSE EVERYONE IS DISAPOINTED WITH HALO 3 BECAUSE IT IS HALO 3!!! It is the exact same Halo style of combat that by this point is no longer revolutionary or cutting edge because everyone is copying the shit out of it. I played Halo 3 because I wanted to finish the fight, and I did that, and enjoyed myself. It is everything I thought it would be. I am happy.

Also, there is a huge problem in gaming right now. Amazing games like BioShock have to only be considered for GOTY, due to the enormous amount of great titles out there. Its a good problem to have. But not for BioShock. When it came out, it was in line for GOTY, but now, sorry bro, you gotta go.

If you ask me, I'd say the thinking is flawed in this panel. You have one guy who says "The market on that game is too narrow." Seems to imply that he's more interested in which game is financially successful than which is actually the best in terms of game play.

If you look at market as a part of it then strategy, RPG, shooter, adventure, puzzle, sports, etc ALL cover different market niches, right? ....it may not appeal to kids, but what wins an oscar doesn't necessarily either, does it? Is it the award for good business, or which game is the most fun and ground breaking?

Honestly, Portal is the game of the year IMO, followed by Bioshock, then the rest of the Orange Box. And I still think Oblivion should be up for some awards this year even though it is hella old. That game transcends space and time.

Exclamation Lets have some good old fashioned fun. [L4D2]

Not many of my friends play L4D2, and that is my problem. It's not fun playing with strangers. They never talk to you, and if they do, they are usually all serious.

So I am looking for some people to regularly play LFD2 with, mostly campaign. At least twice a week. Just fuck around and have a good time. We could... I dunno... see who can run from the witch the longest... or play "don't pop the boomer."

    Some facts about myself:
I am free most afternoons and evenings.
    I like campaign the most
I have two cats, and enjoy long walks on the beach.
    Ellis is my homeboy.

If you are interested, send and invite to "i loev unicrons" without the quotes. And yes it is supposed to be misspelled.
