Counter-Strike 2
http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/51574
"With Counter-Strike 2, there's a big question between, do we go start over from scratch and build this whole new game, do we do something that looks more like Team Fortress 2 that is rooted in the old game but has a ton of new stuff, or do we just sort of take everything that's new that we've released and put that out in a new box," remarked Lombardi.

Re: Counter-Strike 2
Counterstrike sort of is to FPS what WoW is to MMORPG.
The hard core fans will never let it die even if others come along to try and replace it.
CS wouldn't be CS without random bullshit headshots and the AWP and crazy nonsensical situations.
COD4 is basically CS - 2, isnt it? Basically? or GRAW or BF2 or...fill in the blank.
CS is CS because its so wild and crazy - if they tried to make "another realistic FPS" based on the old good guys vs bad guys - it would have to be some intense shizzle to make a lasting impact.
It would have to be VERY scalable (meaning, it would have to run well on a WIDE array of PCs).
I dont know...
Hell - they could add the ability to go prone to CS Source and label it CS:2 and people would pay for it.
