What console games should I buy?

if you like racing games, make sure you have GT3 and GT4 for your PS2, both i think can be had for like $40 at the most.

I 2nd that, GT3 is so much fun. At Costco they sell greatest hits titles for $15.99, which is fucking awesome. GT4 is one of those greatest hits you might find there. GT3 can be bought used from Slavestop (Gamestop/EB Games) for about 5 bucks. With deals like these, its hard for me to find a reason to buy new games. Think twice before you fall victim to the marketing man.

A Farcry nockoff was made for the xbox.

Farcry 2 is coming out for the Xbox 360 and the PC.

Fallout 3 is coming out for the Xbox 360 aswell. I almost preordered it the other day.

PS2:
Ratchet & Clank trilogy
Sly Cooper trilogy
They might be a bit juvenile, but they are also great games. Sly is the best platformer I've ever played.

Guitar Hero and all the sequels. I think it's more fun to play multiplayer, but it's also fun shredding single player.

God of War. Might not be able to get your folks to sign off on this one. More than a little mild nudity in it. But such an amazing game. Great stress reliever, too!

Wii:
Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Smash Bros Brawl. It's more fun to play online but the single player adventure mode and unlockables provide a lot of replay value.
Metroid Prime and the sequels.

360:
I just got mine, so I don't know much about what to recommend yet.
I think you said you already have Halo. That would be my biggest recommendation (ironically also the only game I've finished yet

). Even if you can't play online, it's a good game.

Have you considered getting some xbox marketplace points or wiipoints? Twenty bucks each would you buy you enough points to get several games.
There are some awesome old school Nintendo titles on the Wii. Sonic, Mario, Zelda, the likes. The new Wiiware titles aren't too bad, either. Defend your Castle is a good eight-dollar game and fun timesink.

Fable, Psychonauts and some other games are available for download on xbox. They were both decent games. Worth checking out for about ten dollars each.

God of War is a must to have for the PS2, arguably the best game ever on the PS2. Also check out Resident Evil 4 on the PS2 as well.

For the 360 here's what I reccomend: Rainbow 6 Vegas, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Halo 3, and GTA 4.
