I played quite a bit of the original (was finishing up the fancy part of town where all the snobs live). I really enjoyed the story and the way it was presented. Just enough "go do this crap and get more plot" mixed with "mow down these guys" + the alchemy stuff. There's tons of lore there as well, evidenced by the massive catelog of knowledge you collect as you progress through the game. Not too surprising though considering its all based off some books which I never read but want to.

The combat takes some getting used to but its different than anything else I've known, kind of like a cross between diablo and age of conan in terms of fighting. Lots of clicking but lots of over-the-shoulder swinging, and the animations are really nice to look at.

I would have liked to finish it but it was super buggy: long load times, random CTDs, lots of stuck moments in the world or during loading. I heard they were working on this extended edition that would fix all of my problems so I quit playing to wait for the EE.

Just wait till you get to the sex card collection part of the game............ that's when it gets really addicting

I'll send someone this game for a reserved slot on TF2.

Installed, played for 10 minutes, never again. Not my style.
