    Saints Row 2 - PS3 or PC?

Im surprised there hasnt been any mention of this game yet. Regardless, I really enjoy the GTA series but didnt like the seriousness of GTA:IV. This game boasts that its more along the wacky lines with less attention to graphic detail, which is perfectly fine by me. I'm debating which system to get it on though.

I like the feel of a GTA-styled game on PS3, but I suck at trying to aim myself. Im much better aiming with a mouse. My rig is right at the recommended settings for this game with the only difference being having a 2.2GHz proc:

    Supported OS:Windows XP or Vista.
Processor: 3.2 GHz Intel Dual-Core Pentium IV or equivalent or AMD Dual-Core Athlon XP or equivalent
    Memory: 2 GB system RAM
Graphics: 256MB 3D graphics card with Shader Model 3.0 support (i.e. 8800 NVidia card or better, ATI HD3850 card or better)
    DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c
Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible 16-bit sound card
Hard Drive: 15 GB of Hard Drive Space
Display: DirectX compatible display capable of 640x480 in 16-bit color
Multiplay: Internet play requires broadband connection and latest drivers; LAN play requires network interface card and latest drivers

So the question is posed; do I head to the keyboard and mouse for good aim and hope my computer runs the game smooth, or do I stick with my PS3 version and suck it up with the aiming?

Also forgot to add that the PC version is $40 and the PS3 version is $60, but price isnt much of an issue.

If you have an AMD 2.2GHZ you are good.(Dual core)

AMD CPU's dont need depend on the clock speed as much as Intel CPU's do.

And besides they listed an Intel Pentium D, which was slower than the Athlon 64 X2's.

Zero Punctuation gave 'Saints Row 2' the 'Copulating Jelly Baby Award for Fucking Sweet Game'
In other words, Yahtzee called it the game of the year.

Re: Saints Row 2 - PS3 or PC?

I decided to get it for my PS3 last week and have logged about 26 hours on it already. Console or PC, the gameplay is so much fun (Im a big fan of sandbox-type games). It has every comical element and feel of the more cartoony sequels of the GTA series and goes above and beyond as far as production quality (voice acting, plot lines, etc...). I haven't even tapped into the multiplayer element of it yet. You can actually play co-op and complete missions together with someone else. I would say the size of the world is somewhere in between Vice City and San Andreas.

My only complaint would be with the short draw distance. This is really only a problem when Im quickly looking for a car to nab while running from enemies. It really doesnt affect weaving in and out of cars while driving like some other reviews Ive read.

All in all, it is a great game that hasnt strayed from what most fans of the GTA series became fans for... to have fun. You can skydive out of a plane, shoot raw sewage at people, do drive-by's using cruise control, or just run around down and create havoc. If you liked any GTA sequels, you'll love this game. Easily has a re-playability rating of 10/10.
