Did you get the BTS expansion? That is what we all play.

I believe I have you on X, JB and I are Civ nuts, as well as some others you see posting in this thread. SO go ahead and ask for advice, or line up some short multi player games.

If you want to play the match, you might want to set up a game using the parameters we are using in the match (OP the March Match thread).

The Civilization series is super time consuming and intricate...but it is awesome. My number 1 game.

EDIT: Oh yeah like Civil said, make sure you got the Beyond The Sword (BTS) Expansion. BTS includes the material from WarLords so do not get that expansion.

Basically, on noble you are even with the AIs, above Noble and they get bonuses while you get penalities. They do not behave much differently (unless you play on settler) but they can smash you just because they get more gold, production, health, etc. in EVERY city.

I don't have BTS and money is tight at the moment so I guess I'm screwed on playing multiplayer huh. I can't get past the gunpowder stage....I suck
