It says DX9 and DX 10 but i bet you by the end of its development it will be for DX11 as well. Possibly Crysis 2

I gotta say I'm impressed...but here's the thing....it's not the graphics that matter...it's the game......you have to have great gameplay first, THEN worry about graphics. But even so, crytek on the ps3 and 360? nice.

Crysis and Far Cry had both. And im sorry im not playing a game that has great gameplay, but graphics are beyond crappy looking for the time period it is released. Now granted, i still go back and play old games but that is different.

And i don't see why people hate Crytek for advancing the technology.

This is about the engine, not a game or about the game play of any game, the engine will be used by many many game developers to make playable games around the engine, like valves source engine which powers css, tf2, l4d, dods, etc. Crytek's game development and engine development departments are separate. So blame the game development division and not the engine development.

Graphics are actually priority one, the stronger the engine, the longer its used, look at how far our valves source engine is still being used for new games and compare it to the Monolith's shit engine. The game play can be tweaked, the engine... not so much... Even more so the gameplay is based on the capabilities of the engine.

Anyone looking to upgrade should wait, CryENGINE 3 will likely max out even today's top of the line hardware if not make them cry.
