you could get guild wars, although i haven't played it in years, it's a free to play online RPG, in todays market though there are no good "Free" online rpgs your better off sticking single player, stuff like fallout 3, mass effect, oblivion (it is sad that i can only think of three sp rpgs at the moment).

Mass effect was good all the way through for me, i'm currently replaying it to get set up for ME2 in Q1 2010.

I only played about 10... but played it slow. Did all the quests I could find in the citidel (all of them) and did alot of exploring of planets to find stuff.

Yeah, that's what I do. Get a bunch of levels, do all the Citadel quests and explore every extra system I can before heading to the first story planet.

If you're more into action-y RPGs, you might try Dark Messiah Might and Magic... it's part of the Ubisoft pack on Steam for like $10 (also gets you Beyond Good and Evil, IL-2 Sturmovik, and Far Cry.) It's probably not a top-10 game on anyone's list, but it's fun enough and it's good for about 12-18 hours of gaming. It gets a little repetitive, but it never got to the point where it wasn't fun anymore.

Dungeons and Dragons online goes free to play this fall, so that might be something to get into. I made a post about it in the MMO section.

    Get Eve.

Even if you have to pay... it's awesomely epic.
Me: "But the Gunslinger is so much more fun..."
Langrad: "We're here to win, not to..."
    Me: "Have fun?" "Hahaha"
