Re: Borderlands PC Patch Released
Kyle, as one of your brethren, I command you to shut up.
Corpse, I'm sorry it's not working out for you. At least try Game ranger for now, I'm pretty sure it's a game spy issue, and not the game itself. But I could be wrong, I have gotten the pc version quite yet. But I'm pretty sure it's just one of those cases where console port to pc is buggy as shit and takes a while to fix.
Take care, and I hope you'll be able to play co op by Christmas. Cause I should have the pc version by then.

Re: Borderlands PC Patch Released
Btw kyle, What you're asking wouldn't work. What you're trying to do is basically "automatically" open the ports.
Look at ports like closed doors. And if your router doesn't know who is at the door, it isn't gonna open it. When two people join a game (hosted by someone else) The host (which you initiated first contact with, and you "know" who the host is) sends you information about everyone else in the game. Which in turn lets the router "know" who your friend is. At least temporarily (not sure exactly when this ends...). So, then, you would be able to host a game in single player and your friend should be able to join, because your router knows who is knocking at the door.
When you forward ports, it's basically telling the router to just let the door hang in the breeze; leave it open.
So in short, if your router has never seen who is at the door, it won't let them in.
