    Non-Steam version -> Steam version?

    Okay so a friend of mine got Borderlands for x-mas. Of course his wife bought the non steam version. Did I see someone mention it is possible to make a non steam version of a game into a steam version? He wants to play with out the CD in the drive AND would like to buy the DLC that is on sale through steam but you have to have the steam version for that DLC to work. (Yeah you can buy non steam version of DLC but it isn't on sale currently)

    Go the the "My games" tab in Steam and go to "Add non-steam game..."

    Put the CD key in there and boom. Steam game. :9

    Retail version doesn't come with a CD Key (that I could find at least). I was hoping to do the same thing.

    both guys that bought retail cant find any key here either.

    May not be possible with Borderlands I guess
