    I remapped almost all my keys to be mostly consistent with those of BF2PR, though you have a lot more freedom with free look in Arma 2 than you do with BF2.

    Between this announcement, playing ruse beta a lot and all the WW2 stuff coming out I have the urge to download the WW2 mod for Arma 2.....

    Anyways, to stay on topic, what kinds of FPS do you guys get? I ran Arma II Demo yesterday with Fraps and the best I could get was about 25 FPS, that was with everything tweaked on Low, or Normal, where going any lower didn't increase the FPS I got, but going higher definitely did. I turned off the Post processing, which is pretty much the HRD Lighting Sleepybean is talking about... Looks like I'm going to have to put together a new rig before this comes out. In other news, I can barely run PR at high as well...

    Protip: put object detail all the way to very low.

    Arma has a funny way of messing with textures, so try using a high or very high texture preference... my computer runs better on very high rather than high.

    look around on the web lots of ways to tweak things.

    Speaking of, anyone know how to split mouse sensitivities over infantry/vehicle/helicopter/airplane like in BF2?

    Yeah, Arma II was very strange, reducing the Terrain Detail definitely increased my FPS, but decreasing the texture detail didn't have any affect on my FPS, didn't go up or down. I will have to play around with it some more. I've got PR to the point where I can get 40-60 FPS now, all the textures and graphics are on low, but the game runs very smoothly and has been more fun than ever, now that I don't glitch and lag when running. What are you talking about Mouse sensitivities in Arma II? You mean adjusting the in-game settings or Mouse DPI? I've found that the Arma II helo's are not as sensitive and less likely to flip like in PR.

    Let's put it this way - my rig for the foreseeable future is my iMac booted with XP. Not exactly what this thing will demand. However, I am accepting donations to my human fund. 8)

    Bad news.... My Gaming PC went down last night.... The damn thing was frozen and when I went to restart it, the hole thing shut down and now won't boot up. Looks like I'm going to either have to get a new MOBO or upgrade the whole damn thing. I'll be out of commission for at least two weeks. Sniff, sniff...

    Well this will probably be relegated to obscurity now, but it does look like a huge improvement for PR. I don't know whether the demo for Arma II has been updated along with the game but from what I understand about the game there were huge changes that have dropped some of the massive load on systems since the initial release.

    The demo was never updated, but the full game is and runs 50% if not more smoothly than release. The problem with Arma2 that a lot of folks don't understand is that it taxes your CPU a lot more than your graphics processor, so you could have the best video card in the world but if your CPU is older it will still run slow.

    PR will eventually be in 3 games, BF2, Arma2 and their own stand alone game PR2.

    wow been a while...

    The only issues I see are:

    What will happen when Operation Arrowhead is released? Since that is supposed to be USA in "some middle eastern country" (but I guess PR is focusing on MoD in Afghanistan)

    Also how is the destructible wall thing being implemented? Did they really import that from VBS2?

    Anyway I'd also look forward to this mod. I boycotted both MW2 and more importantly BFBC2 due to the no-lean and console-porting issues. I played OFP2 for a couple of hours, it was a joke.
