Thread: If TPG had a Bad Company 2 server and a public TS instance

Don't own the game, nor plan to. The beta really showed me all that I needed to know. Basic systems in the game did not work (and still do not work to this day) and the lack of command strucure really just makes the game one big cluster !^%$. Not how I like my battlefield games. Others find it fun, I did not. To each his own. Voted.

I dont own the game. I may get it when i get a new rig, but thats not for a few months anyway. Voted.

Honestly this topic would be even up for discussion if "upper mgmt" simply caved and hosted a VOIP server.

Instead we let people trash the game, call it crap, unbroken, burned EA/DICE at the stake and shut the server down.

I'm not vehemently opposed to bringing back BC2. I can see an obvious demand for a server at TPG, but there's a number of things that would need to happen to make it successful this time around. Admins & Regs MUST be willing to prime the server. To their credit the 5th & Victrix guys did a yeoman's job of trying to prime the server, but as anyone who's primed servers before, if the server never fills up, it can get old quick. We had a number of regs and admins who would either only play at TPG when the server was active. Admins, regs & resident clans will need to be aggressive in promoting whatever VOIP server we put up. The only way this game will ever be 'TPG worthy' is if there can be effective communcation between teams.

We are looking into all possible scenarios at this point, so nothing is being shot down by the highs yet. This is merely a poll to gauge interest.

In all honesty, the game DESERVES to be trashed. It's an absolute travesty what EA/DICE have done to this game. It has SO MUCH potential and really is fun to play when you can communicate with your team. They've not shown a real interest in fixing what's wrong with it either. Instead we have the DICE team's attention being diverted to new projects like MoH and BC2:Vietnam and one or two guys working on fixing what's wrong with BC2.

Well one can only hope that when they roll out BFBC2 Vietnam as expansion pack, the VOIP fixes be included in there.

But realistically people are going to buy the game even with NO VOIP. Why because its an awesome game.

In all honesty, I won't be buying BC2:Vietnam unless VOIP is fixed BEFORE the release and even then I'm not sure I want to give my money to a company that doesn't seem to give a flying flip about their PC gamers and caters to the console crowd. "Everything works fine on console, who cares about PC" is the undertone that has been present with BC2 since the beginning.

funny how people are hoping the expansion will deliver a service promised on initial release.

I am not hoping for anything. I don't expect it.

And thats fines. I can multi task. I got A- in Typing 101.

But unfornately I got C- in Riding on My High Horse 203.

VOIP or NO VOIP people who really like the game will play it, people who enjoy the series will buy the expansion and the world will still go round and round.
