    Deus Ex 3

Man, I cannot WAIT for Deus Ex 3. The original Deus Ex was my literal entry into conspiracy theories. After researching what Gunther's password meant (Zeitgeist) and then realizing that all of the factions in the game are REAL I was blown away. It touches the federal reserve, Rockerfellers, the illuminati, military black ops, triads, underground techie hobbies (raving, hacking {cracking}), Area 51, etc...

I mean holy crap. It basically took every good conspiracy that is half ass plausible and still based in the real world and then smashed them all together into a espionage first person shooter with role playing elements.

Deus Ex 2 sucked... sorry... flame me if you want...

It looks like part 3 is going back to its roots in both gameplay and story perspectives.

Why didn't you like it, out of curiosity? I was a huge fan of DE1, and I enjoyed DE2 as well. I've never really understood why it got so much hate.

    [[Softcore Spoilers]]

It was extremely dumbed down and the main character was not well fleshed out. JC Denton was mysterious but you still learned a ton about him. I remember always choosing the more difficult path of saving his older brother (Paul, I think?) just because of the emotional attachment I felt for JC Denton. Don't get me wrong, it had the same delicious game mechanics from part 1 where you could save a game and solve your next objective 5 ways before moving on. Although one mechanic that I didn't like was that the ammunition became universal. I felt it was a departure from a somewhat believable world. They explained everything unbelievable such as that with 'nanobots'. It used a lot of the same storyline from the original as well. It wasn't mysterious at all to discover the Illuminati were involved. I did play and enjoy part 2, so I guess I should have just said that I didn't think part 2 was a suitable sequel.

In this version it takes place before part 1 and 2. That means their easy escape of just saying anything unexplainable or unbelievable is a nanobot just want be usable. It also means that we hopefully get to put a lot of the events into motion that set the stage for it's predecessors.

I didnt like #2 as much because for almost every mission you could "accomplish" both objectives. I felt it hurt the game that I could save the scientist for one side and then do the exact opposite and blow up the building. While they are both doable without contradicting each other it made it so I never felt an attachment to one side or the other.
