News from the 1.8 front: OCEANS ARE FREAKING HUGE.

If you're familiar with super-boat-speed, from the center of the map to the edge is about a 5 minute boat ride. Those two maps are about side-to-side. The left of Map 0 connects with the right of Map 1 after a small gap. I tried to continue off the right edge of Map 1 and was still unable to locate any considerable land. Map 1 is not fully explored. The upper left mass of Map 1 is from the same continent from Map 0.

Crap man... I thought I was going insane when I was doing single player...
I spawned onto a mountain with steep drops and absolutely no trees or flat 3x3 land.

I got a tree and started planting crap, built a boat and travelled the sea, and managed to find a small island shortly after

I made myself a trophy in the Single Player. Then I went away and realized he would despawn. Darn, no trophy any more....

Time to offload some screenshots in my folder. The spiders and the Nether are both from our multiplayer server. The other three are from my 1.2 snapshot world (got it from the wiki). Edit: Hm. Looks like our uploader botched the quality on two of them. You'll get the point though.

Ocelots may be found in Jungle Biomes. If you sit still with a raw fish in hand, they might approach you, and stop in front of you. When they do that, you can feed them the raw fish and they'll turn into a "domestic" cat, which will follow you. The cats currently attack only chickens, and cannot be told to wait anywhere, and they teleport to you like a tamed wolf does.
