Re: Dragon Age
thanks for the write up Cainun....you know back in the day around this point a certain someone (or two) might pop in to this thread and say "This would make a great article. Add some images, clean up the text a bit, flesh it out a little and BAM! there you go, article."
I wonder where those folks got off to

Re: Dragon Age
I loved it too. Had some obvious flaws typical to BioWare games (eg. Giving you the dialogue options of either polite or petulant teenager).
DA2 has me worried, because what made DA1 one fun was the ORIGINS!!! Now you're stuck with one character and a conversation wheel. I don't want to play a medieval Sheperd. I want to play Sheperd in ME and anything my mind dreams up in DA.

Re: Dragon Age
Obviously not White.
Writing is actually something I am humble about. Its something I don't throw out very often, and whenever I do write something up, its because I've spent hours upon hours on it, and its something I feel comfortable with, and I feel it meets my relatively high self expectations for my own creative works.

Re: Dragon Age
I found that my mage mostly used the varius cold skills, and fireball. Any big AoE skill that would slow down mass groups of enemies. If you want to go easy mode get forcefield and use it on your own tank after he has built up some aggro. The tough mobs will keep attacking your unhurtable tank letting you dump damage on him. I never had any mage that focused purely on healing/buffing. Both of my mages got heal, wynne actualy finished off the heal tree but she had plenty of attacking spells as well.
Iv seen a video that shows they fixed/broke archery for Dragons Age: Awakenings. If you go full dex your impossible to hit and you can deal so much damage per shot that you can solo the whole game if you want to. I never really like 2 Hand warriors due to the fact that a rouge or a mage could outdo their damage. My biggest disappointment of DA is that your verbal choices had almost no affect on the story. You could be an elf mage (the most hated race and least trusted class) and tell the king to go screw himself and he will still be like "We can use every able body at the front lines! Welcome!". Also while lockpicking is good for early funds it hurts you later cause the chests generaly dont hold to much in valuables. I always had my main rouge have no lockpicking skills and I would come back later with a different full pick rouge if I really wanted to do some looting.
For DA:2, from what iv seen its not going to be a continuation of DA:1. Instead its going to be during the same time frame but in a different area of the world. And your not going to be playing the guy your playing, your playing a storyteller who is telling someone else what happened (and embelishing). A very bookish way of telling a story, think Usual Suspects.
