Re: Would you like to play a game? (Civ 5, or Global Thermonuclear Warfare)
I wouldn't mind giving it a shot... but I think I want to try one more single player. Only played one game through and it's the first civ game I've ever played. Yes yes... Quell your shock and outrage. I bought Civ4 limited edition tin when it came out, and bought it again on steam recently... but never played it either time.

Re: Would you like to play a game? (Civ 5, or Global Thermonuclear Warfare)
So there does not appear to be an "advanced start" option for Civ 5. However, you can choose eras that give you base technologies and extra units. These increase as the era you choose becomes later. Also, the cities you found with those first settlers will have some buildings.
We could pick an era?
So: Quick, and an advanced starting era.
Just need to get some number of players to commit.

Is the MP particularly unstable right now? I have not used it yet...
Looking at the number of players responding so far maybe we could do an unusual map: Four Corners, Highlands, etc...
I can make any Saturday or Sunday except the 27th.
So what weekends in the next three work for anyone except Sunday the 27th?

12th is out for me, possibly one other saturday as well. I won't know until tonight which one. Other wise I think I'm free the rest of the time.

Civ 5 takes a bit longer than Civ 4 to get through a turn...
I have been playing on Quick and started at Renaissance. That seems to yield a pretty good game for a few hours. Still probably won't beat it in five unless we use the turn timer.
