Steam to add video recording and possible streaming

After waiting in the lobby for a few minutes it turned out Gabe was in the office and wanted to say hi. To my great delight he was playing DOTA 2 when we walked in and from what I can see the game already looks very promising. After a little "sneak peek" we sat down to talk about Steam and other goings on in Valve. During this chat he confirmed that Steam will get a video recorder very soon, also he said they were looking into the iOS/Android platform for possible expansions with Steam. He also siad that the Source film maker is in the pipeline for a public release. After the chat was over he happily signed my copy of the Orange box and sent me on my way to Robin Walker.

yeah - except the problem with getting rid of xfire is that not all games can be purchased through steam. Not all games fully support the steam overlay (::cough:: older PB enabled games ::cough

and then there is the issue that lots of people might game without launching steam if they're not running a steam game.

That was the nice thing about Xfire - it did a pretty good job of detecting all games installed.

But oh well - I guess time will tell.

Lately, all the games I've bought either are through steam or bought knowing that they work with steam.

I just don't use xfire at all anymore and now I don't have any reason to.

all of my recent purchases have been as well - but I still play several that don't play nice with the Steam Overlay (PB issue not the game itself but since PB is integral to the game no getting around it)

Yeah I'm a steam guy too. I'm done with physical copies unless it's a gifted game of course.

Don't really use xfire anymore either, but not "steam guy," I'm more of a "who is giving me the best price guy." I especially do love the Gamersgate, they seem to have a better selection of adventure games, and usually have sales on paradox interactive games all the time.
