if you play it its nothing like minecraft except for the fact you have a pick and can mine into the ground. i am playing this and its what i like about minecraft which is exploring caves but its more rpg and the penalty is less strict if you die. its only 10 bucks try it out.

Pecet: I wonder if @notch will sue terraria author, i love minecraft, but terraria is looking good too.
Notch: @pecet Nope, we're not. It's an amazing looking game, and it doesn't contain any of our code or art. I'm looking forward to playing it

they might be going back to more basic graphics but the games themselves are far far more involved. The backend of these games is crazy. If you like simple games such as these you might enjoy DwarfFortress. If you can get over the really simple ASCII graphics the game is very complex. And the machines I used to play it on a Core2 Duo laptop, would CRY when it played the game. But it wasn't the graphics it was crying because of. It was the backend that was calculating how much water was about to come gushing through a wall I told my dwarfs to carve out. Or it was pathing the rats running through the food cellar.
Bay 12 Games: Dwarf Fortress And it is free. It also has many graphics packs so you do not HAVE to deal with the crummy simple graphics.Last edited by JBMCW2010; 05-17-11 at 12:35 PM. Reason: linkage and more DF info
