Re: 2142 sequel`
id buy it. fo sho.
2142 was before its time, the ideas and gameplay the devs wanted couldnt be handled by the common hardware... but now i think they can make 2142 the way they wanted too.
Imagine Titans raving hell over the destructible environments, or the awesome reload animations of the futuristic (ballistic) weapons like they had in 2142.
I never understood why a lot of BF2 veterans were angry with 2142, I know how passionate some bf2 players can be. even now some are thumbing thier noses at bf3.
im sure they will do 2142, thier is money to be made. the question is if they really do it well.Last edited by 619summon; 08-28-11 at 12:37 PM.

Re: 2142 sequel`
My thoughts exactly. I honestly don't want to see it on the new engines. I like being able to see vehicles, structures, and infantry, not endless dust clouds. Oh wait, it's 2142, so we'll see clouds of loose snow, not dust.
I really, really want this to be true. I really, really want it to be good, the way 2142 should've been. I got into 2142 late and never got a chance to get into it on account of Punkbuster being a bitch.
The best thing they could possibly do is get it on Steam and use Steamworks tools to handle everything - servers, VAC for anti-cheating, the whole nine yards. We know it won't happen, though, because EA needs to dump a few hundred million into this Origin bullshit and wait six years for it get run over by Steam.
It's almost cruel to taunt us like this. I say we sue EA for psychological torture and harm.

Anyone expecting a 'remake' of 2142 with Frostbite 2 is going to be disappointed. Much like people expecting BF3 to be BF2 ala Frostbite... While it would be great for this to happen... the source is an EA Support weenie. I doubt they've got their finger on the pulse of the company.
