Well u have to be patient with the Origin for a while, and update it several times a week!

Oh, you can use Paypal, BUT if your registration email is different from your Paypal email, it doesn't let you. I am not changing my Paypal login for one game.

I will also state that, yes, I know that Steam was horrible at launch. I used it back then, but for the love of science, if you're going to release something on the market and hope to steal a huge portion of the market share, you shouldn't release a sub-par project.

I never set up my BF2 soldier. I just use the stats from the page linked up in the TPG menu.

It's in the "My Games" tab, you should have an Email from EA with your BF3 preorder confirmation as well as the activation code for Dead Space 2 (It's directly below your shipping/contact information in that email).

I played it for about an hour last night, it's pretty good so far - especially for the price.
