CSS Administration
Hey guys,
So I like to have considered myself a regular CSS player at TPG/TTP for a while. I wanted to bring up something that I have been noticing over the past several months. Depending on the day, admin availability has declined greatly. There are several occasions where a lack of admin has been an issue.
Firstly, there is the obvious issue of a hacker on the server. It is a rare occurrence, but when it does happen, it is a severe issue; emptying the server completely. When it does occur, it happens mid to late afternoon, when the server is priming. It makes playing at TPG less enjoyable, especially during the day. As a regular, it saddens me to see TPG in such a state. I'm not blaming the admins in any manner, I'm just saying that the availability of known CSS admins may be minimal when priming the servers.
Next, there are the evening games. Around 7-9 PM central, one CSS server is full (namely the AWP server). In the past 7-9 Pm central meant "prime time at TPG". Now, I know CSS is a dying game, but that doesn't mean it should be abandoned, especially with CS:GO coming out in the near future. People still try to prime the No AWP server during prime time, but it's never "TPG". What I mean is administration in this server just isn't there. Players not following calls is the main issue, and there is no one to enforce. I don't know about you guys, but I fell in love with TPG because of players being enforced to follow the call, calls not from just admins, but from the TPG community. That's what defines CS:Source at TPG.
Ultimately, there is no immediate solution. However, if TPG wants to see a future through counter strike (CS:GO), I recommend actions be taken sooner rather than later. I don't know proper solutions, as I have never run a gaming community, but from personal experience, I think a few more regular reliable players be given admin responsibility. If they don't perform well, then have their powers taken from them, but it's something I think the TPG community could ultimately benefit from.
Anyways, I'd love to hear feedback on my comments, negative or constructive.
Thanks for hearing me out,

Re: CSS Administration
Regs need to step it up.
Sometimes I go and say, "let's prime the other server", no one joins.
As for hackers, unless it's a name changer, voteban should work.
TPG has someone of THE BEST admins in ANY eSport in the world I feel, fuck ESEA, CEVO, ESWC admins. But they have lives, and sometimes, it comes before gaming. Respect to TPG admins for a great job.

Re: CSS Administration
Anyone can report problem players here http://www.teamplayergaming.com/coun...yers-here.html . We have that thread in every game forum.
But if you feel that deeply for TPG, I think its time to throw you hat in the ring for adminship, no? (hint hint wink wink)

Honestly volcanasm I think alot of what you are seeing/feeling about the lack of regs/admins lately has to do with the release of a TON of high profile new games over the holiday season. CoDMW3, BF3, Skyrim, Deus Ex 3, etc all came out at about the same time. I know alot of the time just looking down my steam friends list alot of those I used to see playing CSS are now playing Skyrim, or CoD. I know a TON of the CSS regs are currently wrapped up in BF3(I play on and off as well). Give it a month or so...I'm sure things will pick up again. As for admin presence I'd be willing to bet that if there is more than 1 admin on they are required to split the servers should both servers be active...if not then that admin is probably going to the busier server.

Re: CSS Administration
A couple of nights ago I noticed one server stacked with Admins and none in the other. I heard a High Admin once say
"Spread the Fuck out" I try to help when no admin is on but you can only do so much, and it's even more tuff when you can't find an admin online. Rare moments when their are issues, so kuddos to TPG admins.Son calls Dad a fag.
Dad says dude I bust a nut in yo mother 4 times a week

Re: CSS Administration
Votebans take a long time. I also noticed, when votebanning one particular hacker, when the voteban count got high he would just disconnect and reconnect, and the count was back at 0.
I agree TPG has some of the best admins around, but BT quoted the high admin correctly with "Spread the fuck out". I have been playing plenty of times on a priming server with several admins on the full server. Our server has people not following the call, I've seen people mocking the caller, racial slurs, you name it. Granted, when I message an admin they respond and come to the server immediately. Every now and then you can't find an admin on though, and it's frustrating.
I agree to a certain extent. Rare moments when there are severe issues. Not so rare in everyday play that people don't follow the call, don't attempt a defuse, sit afk for several rounds. Those issues occur everyday. Yes it's impossible to cover these issues all the time, but at least there can be an effort.
I suppose reporting problem players helps, but it's never the immediate resolution players in the game look for.
