I once told these people to either shoot the tank or burn the tank in an expert campaign, not both. Every time they'd light him on fire and try to kite him and end up getting pounded. It's not that they didn't want to listen to me, but they thought I was lying. For starters, why would someone lie about this? Not to mention, it's pretty obvious the tank speeds up tremendously when he's alight. Is it really possible that some people don't notice? Let's just be thankful we're not so foolish.

In summary, TC is correct, and you should never light and shoot a campaign tank unless you want an extra bit of challenge.

Here is a chart on the varying statistics on what kills a Tank the fastest.

Apparently lighting him on fire puts him on a 1 minute countdown. Chainsaws kill him pretty quickly which surprises me a little bit. I wonder if that stat applies to 1 person or several people going at him with it.

While the OP is right about situations where the entire team is focusing fire at the TANK. Lighting him on fire is still beneficial and it does slow him down in Left 4 Dead 2. In the second game it works like it does in L4D versus mode, both putting him on a timer and slowing him down at the same time.

That is a zero at the end not the letter "o".
