Thread: Quoting a reply from a locked post

There are times i find myself in need of quoting a reply from a locked post and am unable to, is there any way that it could be enabled?

Perhaps have it so clicking on quote (on a locked post) would maybe redirect you to a new post (the 'Start new topic' page) with the correct quoted link or maybe just have the quote go into the quick reply box (like it does now for unlocked posts) so one could just copy and paste?

That would be useful, actually.

not possible, since quoting is seen as a post (if you use the quote feature). just set up your own version with the quote tags and a URL to the post.

On a related note, what about this? It lets you highlight part of a post, and when you click "quote," it only quotes what you highlighted.

I don't see anything about compatibility with the next version of SMF, which could be a problem with the switch to that version that's coming up (or at least I think it's coming up.)

This one could also be useful, but again there's the compatibility issue. It lets you expand/decrease the size of the text box when you're making a post, which could be useful when making longer ones like what tends to happen with unban requests, Off the Servers debates, etc.

none of those are compatible with our version (they are quite old).
