As most of you know, this is my avatar:

....but, I've always wondered...why is it so huge?

Is there any way to make display at the proper size?

the site reforms all of them to be more uniformed in size I would assume.
There are a few people here that have huge avatars and they are the same size.
ill see if I can find an example

I know someone has one that is polymungous (thats a multifaceted humongous object)but I cant think of who it is right now.

Yep - it resizes your canvas size to fill the 100x100 area. In this case your canvas size is only as big as your image size, so it made it much larger when you added it. I'll hook you up...
