Make New Posts Dropdown Menu Work on Search Page
New Posts dropdown menu thingy? Awesome. Arguably, better than SMF's per-forum solution as I can now browse by whole forum sections (although, I still don't really care what goes on in CSS or TF2, or L4d, etc. I'd still like to be able to browse just new posts from a specific forum for the games section).
Not so awesome? It doesn't work on the Search page. Since what it's doing is essentially giving you a customized search, that means you can't choose a new forum section from the dropdown when you're viewiing the results of your first selection. Either you have to head back to the forum index each time, or open every section you want in new tabs first and then browse through them (which significantly increases the chance of missing a key post due to the time period in which you asked for new posts being several minutes ago instead of a few seconds ago).
Hopefully, this isn't a problem with the mod itself and rather something we can fix with a little forum voodoo on our end.

Re: Make New Posts Dropdown Menu Work on Search Page
I don't understand what you're saying....
I DO understand the part about not having the ability to say, for example, show me only the new posts in 2142, or in 2142 admin business, or in X clan's forum/private forum. Instead, it shows you all the posts in the hosted game category. I've put in a request/inquiry with the guy who made this mod to see what options we may have to enhance the specificity of the recent posts function, and see if we can add individual forums, rather than just whole categories. BUT....think how big such a drop down would be. There's many hosted game forums, dozens of clan forums, etc. Would be a pretty big mess, perhaps.
Also...on the search page, you CAN select that you want to search for posts within X days and in specific forums (2142 server business, CSS game discussion, =PHX= private forum, etc). You just need to switch the tab to "single content" when on the advanced search page. http://www.teamplayergaming.com/sear...?search_type=1

Re: Make New Posts Dropdown Menu Work on Search Page
Here, I made some screengrabs for a better description.
The dropdown menu works everywhere on the forums except the search results listview, which is where you end up if you pick any of the options on the dropdown menu. So you can't keep picking new options on the menu from your first choice.
