TF2 Laggy server

Just tried to prime the server and everyone was complaining of horrific lag to the point where it was unplayable. I'm getting 70 ping when I get 30 to every other Chicago server....whats going on? It seems like the server has been like this for weeks, is it ever gonna get fixed?

yes it is unplayable atm i usually don't have issues with lag but tonight it was bad.

Hell, I think anything below 200 is good to go to be honest, but this server farm does need some work here in Chicago, so hopefully TX will be better.

There is more to lag than just ping. In TF2 things like choke affect gameplay much more than other games. We wouldn't be taking the time to make these threads if it wasn't bad. I understand that from an outsider perspective it may seem like we are whining, etc. Please respect those who play this game on the server - we have first hand experience of the lag issues, and when you trivialize these threads it discourages people from posting/creating these threads later on.

The server was acting up sporadically tonight, and some regulars in game claimed that it has been happening for the last few days as well. Everyone on the server was experiencing the lag spikes and there did not seem to be any trends I could notice between the lag and other typical server events such as connections, server mod commands, etc.
