bigdog, thanks for the info.

Here are my last ideas, then I'll shu'p.

The following questions are only to air some thoughts - no need to write me an answer.

1) The last revision of BF2142CC came out about a month before NS. Is there a better correlation between the crashes and NS, or between the crashes and the BF2142CC update?

2) Are the servers running on Linux or Windows? If Linux, is it possible to ratchet up the debug level of BF2142CC and/or BF2142? The error logs in /var/logs might yield some insight as to the crashes. I don't know diddly about Windows logs so I can't make a suggestion there.

I'm tapped out.

our game servers are windows servers, because.....they actually run better than the linux ones.

as well, patches and fixes are typically released and supported well before linux servers are. This is especially true for the Source games.

It just crashed a little before 10 CST. It was switching maps from I believe Bridge at Remagen, and it just crashed.

I wasn't on, just it would not refresh or allow any attempts to join it.

I was on last night, AT 10CST. SJT was there too. It DID NOT crash....you did.

come on man.......if this forum is going to turn into a "oh my game crashed" then we have to shut it down.

check the game monitors, and the map. If the server crashed, and was down, the game monitors would go yellow. As well, when the server came back up from the crash, it would be back on the MINSK startmap.

I played past 10:30 CST last night, and there were ZERO crashes from when I connected prior to 8pm CST to 10:30CST.

game monitor shows no evidence of a crash last night.....at all.

I'm starting to suspect this is either admins screwing around with 2142cc and map changes, or it's people that STILL Don't have northernstrike....and think we've crashed for 45 minutes, when in reality....we've been on a NS map for 45 minutes.

Okay, this time it really did just restart.

Time: 9:40 CST
Map: Just finished second Verdun
# of Players: around 40
Admins Present: None that I was aware of.
No idea what did it.

2142 crashed again on Port Bavaria at around 6:20 CST today. It did this yesterday as well. The server was close to full (I believe around 20 people per side), and EU was winning by 60 points. It shows in the log that it crashed, as well.

Edit: just did it again around 8:00 CST on Verdun, and the log says it also crashed at 7:30 CST (It was either on Tunis or Sidi).

Edit2: It just did it again, 9:52 CST, it was on Minsk.

It would seem that the server is crashing a lot lately. It crashed yesturaday on Port Bavaria, and again on the same map today. Benandorf just told me that it crashed again today. We are on crash number 2 within 4 hours. I doubt this is normal. Any way of fixing this?
