Auto Scroll/Focus After Page Load
This is a bit of an annoyance with using Chrome on message boards... Basically what happens is when Im opening a web page and its still in the stages of loading the extra content (like side ads and such), I will start to read posts and scroll down. Well after about 5 seconds of the page fully loading, it jumps back up to the section where it initially loaded.
So lets say I click on a thread title (not the last-posted link, but the actual title) and the page loads up to the first post. So I start reading through a few posts and about 5 seconds later when all the side ads load, it jumps my screen back up to the first post again so I have to scroll back down. So damned annoying when Im checking these boards multiple times during the day and I have numerous tabs open that Im quickly skimming through. Its almost like I have to sit there and wait for all pages to fully load before reading through them.
Help?

Re: Auto Scroll/Focus After Page Load
Hmmm I just tried it on another message board and am not getting the same issue. I thought it was Chrome, but it looks like it might be this site? More testing and I might have to throw this to the FIX THE SITE thread.

Re: Auto Scroll/Focus After Page Load
your referring to one of two things:
1)its html anchoring to posts. IE: http://www.teamplayergaming.com/issu...ml#post1510920 note the 'post151092' takes you to that post, when the page is loaded. Being taken to the anchor is usually the last thing done, for exactly avoiding content resizing which would potentially knock the achor outside of your view if your taken to the anchor prematurely. Because of this delay in being taken to the achor, if you scroll about the page before the page is fully loaded, your view range will inevitably be moved
2) your sidebar is loading in slow and you are seeing the middle content resize when the sidebar gets inserted. Suppose we could tank a table around the content bind the middle content to a static size so it stop's filling for
There may be a css class we can bind to a max width, but i believe the one i am thinking of, is also used as a major content container and binding it so would fuck a lot of pages without the sidebar (for example, private messages)
Meh, gonna have to get tacked on to the bottom of the todo list...
