Thread: Anarchy Online

yeah, it been there big project they've been working on, last i read they having all the textures and stuff done, they just now need to start adding the gfx into the textures which should take a couple months. Don't know if they are going to work on character models at all, but hopefully they do after they finish the environment.

Nice to see though they are still working on Anarchy despite the release of AoC

Eve's updates were ground shaking to say the least. when the new graphics engine comes out for AO I will be sure to play it again for a little bit at least.

for anyone who cares, AO is celebrating their 7th birthday till july 4th, and according to one of the game directors they are planing to in the fext few months release a new booster pack into the game as well as some other features, plus their is speculation the 18.0 (the patch when the booster pack will be released) is going to be the one where they finally bring out the new rendering engine. When i get a link i'll share it, gotta find it first.

People have been talking a lot in several communities that Anarchy online is much better than it was. All I can say to that is "I'll be the judge of that" so I am giving it another try. I am downloading the client now.

Anyways, any interested in AO? The froob program is still going and it is still my favorite MMORPG and i love the leveling system reason i can't get into any other mmorpgs because of how much better the ao leveling was). Plus its actually set in sci-fi instead of the same fantasy stuff shoved down the mmorpg players throats.

Its free to play, and you get a shitload more features compared to the pay version then most games you can play LEGALLY for free. I know i'm being hopeful anyone will try it, since majority of people are soo shallow in it has to look pretty, but still if you actually like gameplay, AO is pretty good. IT gets a bit grindy but if you find people to group with it is much better then going solo.

Plus they should be getting closer to the prelim date for the update to the Dreamworks graphic engine which is basically the same engine that is used in Age of Conan.

Sure it isn't the prettiest looking game right now but if you give it a shot its a nice MMORPG and much more free then any i've seen come up since it was released. Not only that but the skill system is much more detailed then again any game out there i've seen, and its free to play.

Further the game really gives you an advantage if you work together with other people. One person may be able to explore a level of the subway for example, but with a team you could find yourself getting through numerous monsters and leveling much quicker then doing it solo
