Thread: Aion - The Tower of Eternity

Has anyone seen or heard anything about this? It looks pretty impressive visually and the concept sounds very intriguing.

There is suppose to be PvPvE combat where there are 2 playable races with a 3rd NPC race that is hostile to the other 2 races. This NPC race appears to be a Dragon type race and extremely powerful. I would think it would be cool if they had it so you are required to take a large number of either side to fight and defeat this race, or for the other 2 races to join forces to kill the Dragon people. It would depend on how they set it up. I think it would be cool if they made it so these NPC guys show up randomly in certain areas and just start attacking everyone in large numbers, would make for some good action I'd think.

Also, there is aerial combat in this game where some moves are only available if you are flying. I'm not talking about flying on a mount or anything, everyone can fly. It looks like it is an ability you get at a certain lvl, but basically it looks like 1 side is the "Angel" race, one is the "Devil" race, and the NPC race is just the Dragon type creatures. You can see their wings look like, or a least are a different take on it and what they could be implying.

There are 4 standard classes in this game: Warrior, Scout, Mage, Priest.

At level 10 I believe it was though, each class breaks into 2 new classes.

Warrior -> Gladiator or Templar
Scout -> Ranger or Assassin
Mage -> Sorcerer or Spiritmaster
Priest -> Cleric or Chanter

I assume each class will have their own special abilities related to their main class with relative differences and purposes. I'd assume the Gladiator is more of a damage dealing, 2H weapon using fighter where as the Templar is probably a your standard Tank class, hard to take down but not nearly as powerful damage was as say a Gladiator. Ranger and Assassin should be obvious, Ranger - ranged DPS class and Assassin - your standard rogue/stealth fighter.

Seems like it has been development for a while already as I believe their first E3 showing was in 2006.

The first URL is the main, official site and some some nice SS and wallpapers. The second URL has some more basic info and 2 videos. The first video shows you some of the character customization that will be available and the second video shows you the basic idea of the game.

But seriously it dose look impressive. I seriously doubt it would be that animated in the final version but we'll see.

I will check this one out for sure.

They have some videos on Youtube and it still looks pretty impressive from what I've seen. I'm curious to see how they will actually handle aerial combat though.
